Joining forces in 2006 Ian 'iRoK' Scott and Mark 'MJ' Jackson started their collaboration under the entity 'MJP', producing and licensing songs and underscore for various television shows, movies, and new media projects including; Laguna Beach, The Hills, The City, Paradise City, Pageant Moms, Newport Harbor, Fantasy Factory, The Art Mann Show, Real World, Real World Road Rules Challenge, The Gauntlet, Legally Blondes II, Bratz Rodeo, Bratz Class, Bratz Wild Wild West, Kim and Kloe Take Miami, Degrasi, Germany's Next Top Model, Secret Girl Freind, Toyota, Vanity Fair Oscar Party, Gatorade, Adidas, Acuvue, and Audition The Video Game among others. Later that year, MJ&iRoK co-wrote and produced 'Yeah' performed by famed Korean Artist Park Jeong-Ah. "Yeah" hit #1 on the Korean charts and launched Mark and Ian's careers forward into additional production and writing on the #1 Japanese single "Puzzle" for artist Mai Kuraki. The partnership between Jackson and Scott later formed the music production team MJ&iRoK.
MJ&iRoK went on to develop such talent as Jordyn Taylor whose song 'Strong' gained instant viral success and currently has 19,281,021 plays on MySpace. The success of "Strong" eventually landed Jordyn a multi-million dollar record deal with Interscope records.
Perhaps the most pivotal moment for MJ&iRoK was the discovery of the electro pop sensation H*WooD. By chance MJ&iRoK stumbled upon H*WooD on Myspace and without hesitation signed the young artist to a production/demo deal. Upon completion, this demo specifically the song "Could It Be You (punk rock chick)", which was co-written and produced by MJ&iRoK landed H*WooD a record deal with mega producer Rodney Jerkins. Haled by Ryan Seacrest as the summer jam of 2010, the high-energy electro pop anthem "Could It Be You (Punk Rock Chick)" was an instant fan favorite and viral video smash independently rocketing to #22 on the Billboards Heatseekers Chart and Top 40 on the Billboard Digital Soundscan R&B/Hip Hop Chart. "Could It Be You (Punk Rock Chick)" was debuted on AMTOP40 by Ryan Seacrest not to mention went into heavy in major radio markets from Los Angeles to Florida, independently selling over 220,000 units domestically (and growing). The songs successes in the U.S. led to a release overseas through Universal Germany where "Could It Be You (Punk Rock Chick)" gained even more fame a one point becoming the #1 downloaded song in Germany and reached#33 on the German Hot 100.
Later in 2010 MJ&iRoK began writing/producing for and with various major label artists including Collette Carr (Cherry Tree), Lauren Bennett (Interscope), Cody Wise (Interscope), Trace Cyrus (Atlantic) to name a few. One collaboration in particular with Universal/Motown Band Forever The Sickest Kids resulted in magic leading to the creation of "Life Of The Party" and "Forever Girl" both songs landing on the album and "Life Of The Party" becoming the lead of single the single for Forever The Sickest Kids long anticipated self titled album. Amazingly, the album debuted #33 on Billboard 200, #5 Alt, #8 Rock and #12 digital.
MJ&iRoK's latest release was a co-production entitled "Sticky Dough" with the world famous Brazilian Pop Star Wanessa Camargo feat. MJ&iRoK's latest artist development project BAM BAM. The song has already reached #10 on Brazil's hot 100 chart.
More recently due to their independent success and various upcoming album cuts, MJ&iRoK landed a Major Publishing deal with RONDOR/UNIVERSAL MUSIC PUBLISHING. Among other things, MJ&iRoK in collaboration with Rondor/UMPG are currently co-writing with other hit production teams including "The Writing Camp", "Writers Block", "The Underdoggs", "The Jackie Boyz", "J. Hart" and many more. MJ&iRoK are also Developing Talent such as BAM BAM and are always actively looking for new, hot artists, producers and writers to collaborate with. MJ&iRoK's ultimate goal is to become a household name and a recognizable music brand that goes far beyond music production and songwriting.
